Color Theory
For many years, Tim Burton has been my biggest inspiration when it comes to my art. His aesthetic, as well as his ability to turn drawings into visuals for people’s enjoyment is something I’ve always admired. So, it was only fitting that he be the artist I draw inspiration from for my final Art Project. “Color Theory” is an animation consisting of 155 frames all put together to create a moving picture. I used my drawing tablet to draw all the frames, and then put them all into IMovie. I wanted my animation to be a reflection of me and my style. I accomplished this by including something stereotypically creepy, a skull, and something viewed as delicate and beautiful, the butterfly. As someone who is going to art school next year for film/video, I thought it was an appropriate challenge to take on for my final symposium art project. If I end up continuing with animation, this project allows me to look back on my first animation and see my growth.
