The Face of God
The Face of God is a series of five paintings that incorporate nature and symbolism. Each panel has a face incorporated somehow, because I really enjoyed the blend of fantasy/reality/symbolism that the multicolored faces let me create. I wanted to give a feeling of emotional depth in the pictures, and the faces are not immediately apparent. My series shows how every situation and event has meaning, and can be an exploration of spirituality and religion. The title comes from Les Miserables, which is one of my favorite musicals. One of the panels also features a Robert Frost poem, which I thought was also important to convey my themes of spirituality and hidden meaning.
