Lovely & Lethal
Artist Paul Alexander Thortonís watercolor paintings of skulls and roses inspired me to create Lovely & Lethal. I coordinated the structure and color of the American flag with images commonly found in his work. There are fifty red roses to symbolize the fifty stars, a white skull, and a blue background. By using ball point pen and a wet medium, the ink was allowed to bleed throughout the painting. My artwork was made in respect to those who risk their lives for our country: troops, veterans, fireman and police officers. I dedicate my artwork to these men and women and their loyalty to their communities and America.
