Pedestal for Crystal Ball
First Previous Next Last

I created a crystal ball stand for my senior art thesis. After studying, scrying, tarot reading, astrology, and other arts of divination for my history symposium, I concluded I wanted my own piece of divination apparatus. I began by purchasing a violet tinted crystal ball approximately three inches in diameter. Next, I sculpted white clay into twisting and swirling pillars to support a base on which the crystal ball sits. I painted the base with intertwining, labyrinthine colors of blue, turquoise, indigo, and azure. I am thrilled to have made a functional work of art which I can use and enjoy for years to come.
